Alissa Smith, MS, CRC has been a practicing Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor since 2004. Her professional career began as a State Rehabilitation Counselor, where she continued this work in the public sector for over 3 years. Since that time, and at present, she is practicing in the private sector as a VRC, providing consulting and assessment to individuals with various physical, mental and psychiatric disabilities. Alissa is also an approved Vocational Expert via the Social Security Administration, where she provides expert testimony as a 3rd party witness in SSA disability hearings.
Alissa has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Emporia State University in Emporia, KS.
She has a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling also from Emporia State University. She is also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and an active member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP).
In her spare time, Alissa and her husband enjoy anything involving outdoor activity, to include mountain biking, dirt bike riding, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, camping, and building sustainable trails in the community.
